8. Deidara
When Deidara flew into the Sand Village on his clay bird, he was carrying out an important mission from the Akatsuki: to kidnap Gaara and seize the Shukaku beast dwelling within him.
However, his plan didn’t go smoothly. Gaara became suspicious of Deidara’s infiltration when he noticed that the bird Deidara was riding wasn’t a species native to the Sand Village. This suspicion led to Deidara’s cover being blown, and eventually, Gaara intercepted him, resulting in an inevitable confrontation.
A fierce battle erupted in the skies over the Sand Village. Gaara used his sand cloud to fly, while Deidara relied on his clay bird. As long-range combatants, Gaara and Deidara exchanged attacks from a distance, attempting to outwit each other with their unique strategies and strengths.
Gaara tried to capture Deidara using a giant Shukaku sand hand, while Deidara skillfully hurled explosive clay projectiles. Deidara used his explosives not only to destroy Gaara’s sand hand but also to penetrate the sand shield protecting Gaara’s body. He launched a series of fast, powerful explosive attacks that almost hit Gaara, but Gaara managed to shield himself by encasing his body within a protective sand sphere.
While Deidara was mesmerized by Gaara’s defensive prowess, Gaara seized the opportunity to launch a surprise attack. Deidara was engulfed by a wave of sand that struck him from behind. Although Deidara managed to escape Gaara’s Sand Prison Jutsu, Gaara continued his relentless assault, bombarding Deidara with a barrage of sand attacks and forcing him to fly higher into the sky on his clay bird.
Despite Deidara’s skillful evasions, Gaara eventually succeeded in wrapping sand around Deidara’s left arm. Even though Deidara attempted to detonate the sand surrounding his arm, the sand remained intact. Gaara then used his Sabaku Kyuu Jutsu on Deidara’s sand-covered left arm, causing it to be completely obliterated.
Losing his left arm in the battle against Gaara wasn’t the only significant injury Deidara suffered. He also lost his right arm during his fight with Kakashi. After Gaara died from having the Shukaku extracted by the Akatsuki, Deidara tried to evade Naruto and Kakashi, who were on a mission to rescue the Kazekage.
Deidara flew into the sky on his clay bird, carrying Gaara’s lifeless body. At that moment, Kakashi used his Mangekyo Sharingan to launch a long-range attack on Deidara. The attack successfully severed Deidara’s right arm, adding another devastating injury to the Akatsuki member’s list of losses.
