4. Mirio Togata Regrets Not Saving Eri
This incident began when Lemillion and Deku were patrolling the streets to investigate the Shie Hassaikai group. On the other side, a terrified young girl named Eri ran frantically and accidentally bumped into Deku.
Deku and Lemillion were shocked when they saw that the person chasing Eri was Chisaki, the leader of the Shie Hassaikai. Lemillion and Deku immediately recalled Nighteye’s warning to avoid drawing suspicion from the group during their patrol.
Lemillion tried to act casually and engaged in small talk with Chisaki, then invited Deku to continue their patrol. However, Eri clung tightly to Deku, trembling and crying, begging him not to leave. Unlike Lemillion, who chose not to interfere to protect Nighteye’s strategy and avoid arousing Chisaki’s suspicion, Deku was more concerned about Eri’s condition. He noticed the odd bandages wrapped around her body and wanted to take her away.
Chisaki then claimed that Eri was his daughter (a lie meant to deceive them) and asked Deku and Lemillion not to interfere in family matters. With a subtle gesture of removing his glove, Chisaki made Eri panic. Out of fear, Eri released her grip on Deku and chose to follow Chisaki, leaving Deku and Lemillion helplessly watching them walk away.
During a hero conference led by Nighteye, the investigation results on the Shie Hassaikai group were discussed. Fat Gum reported critical information that the group possessed Quirk-erasing bullets. Upon analysis, it was revealed that these bullets contained human blood and cells as their base components.
Nighteye concluded that the Quirk-erasing bullets likely originated from Eri’s blood. This conclusion was reinforced by Deku and Lemillion’s observation of the bandages covering Eri’s body during their encounter with her on patrol.
In the end, it became evident that Chisaki had been extracting Eri’s blood to create Quirk-erasing bullets. This revelation shocked Deku and Lemillion and filled them with guilt, especially when Rock Lock remarked that the threat of the Quirk-erasing bullets might have been prevented if they had taken Eri away from Chisaki at that time.
The overwhelming guilt consumed them both, but it affected Lemillion the most—he became sullen and lost his cheerful demeanor, as he was haunted by the weight of his regret.
