5. Mirio Togata Mentored by Nighteye

Nighteye was All Might’s former sidekick who once stood by the number one hero’s side. Unlike other hero course students who had to seek out places for internships, Nighteye personally invited Mirio to join his hero agency.

Nighteye greatly admired Mirio and treated him kindly, to the point that Bubble Girl—who had been Nighteye’s companion since his hero days and continued working in his agency—admitted feeling envious.

According to Mirio, Nighteye’s treatment toward him was very different from how he treated Deku, who often received stern lessons during his internship. With Mirio, Nighteye often smiled and joked around.

Nighteye taught Mirio to always observe his enemies carefully and predict their every movement during a battle. He asked Mirio to experience various scenarios and use them as valuable lessons in rescue operations, combat, and perseverance. Thanks to this guidance, Mirio Togata was able to fend off Chrono and Chisaki during the raid on the Shie Hassaikai hideout.

According to Amajiki, Mirio’s close friend, Mirio had become exceptionally skilled and strong due to the rigorous training and work experiences he gained under the mentorship of several heroes, especially Nighteye.

When Nighteye was lying in a hospital bed in critical condition after his fierce battle with Chisaki, Mirio, despite still being in recovery, forced himself to visit Nighteye’s room. While crying, he begged Nighteye to hold on and stay alive. Mirio admitted that it was because of Nighteye’s teachings that he had become as powerful as he was and that he still wanted to learn more from him.

However, fate had other plans. Nighteye eventually drew his last breath, leaving Mirio devastated by the loss of his beloved mentor.

Before passing away, Nighteye used his Quirk to glimpse Mirio’s future. He then reassured Mirio that everything would be fine and that he would become an extraordinary hero in the future.
