Konohamaru has disguised himself as Naruto several times, not only to trick others but also with good intentions to help Naruto.

However, Konohamaru’s impersonations of Naruto often ended in surprising and hilarious situations.

Here are 3 moments when Konohamaru disguised himself as Naruto:

1. Konohamaru Disguises Himself as Naruto During the Chūnin Exams

While Naruto was traveling the world to train with Jiraiya, the Chūnin Exams were held in Konoha. Two years after Naruto left the village, the exam took place without any communication with him, as no one knew his whereabouts. Naruto himself was unaware that the Chūnin Exams were being held in Konoha, which meant he couldn’t participate.

When Konohamaru, Moegi, and Udon learned that Naruto couldn’t join the exam, they felt sorry for him. As Naruto’s loyal followers, they were worried that Naruto would still be a Genin when he returned to Konoha, while his friends would have already advanced to Chūnin rank.

Concerned that Naruto might be disqualified from the Chūnin Exams, Konohamaru decided to help by using the Henge no Jutsu to disguise himself as Naruto. In Naruto’s form, Konohamaru planned to take Naruto’s place in the Chūnin Exams. He went to the exam location and queued up with the other participants to register.

While in line, Konohamaru, disguised as Naruto, mingled with the other Chūnin Exam participants. He approached Team Guy, consisting of Lee, Tenten, and Neji, who were also waiting in line. Although Tenten and Rock Lee were initially skeptical about the “Naruto” who had approached them, Konohamaru managed to convince them by using Oiroke no Jutsu—Naruto’s signature transformation technique. His performance convinced Tenten and Lee that he was the real Naruto.

However, Konohamaru’s disguise was eventually exposed when Neji activated his Byakugan. With his enhanced vision, Neji was able to see that the figure standing before them wasn’t the real Naruto but was actually Konohamaru using the Henge no Jutsu.
