3. Naruto Wins First Prize at the Prize Draw Booth
The story begins when Naruto receives three lottery tickets from Yamato. He then heads to Ino’s Prize Booth to exchange the tickets.
After handing over his three tickets to Ino, Naruto gets the chance to spin the lottery wheel three times. He aims for the first prize, hoping to win a year’s supply of instant ramen cups.
On his first and second spins, Naruto only wins two pieces of candy. Feeling disappointed, he decides to focus his luck on the third spin. Thanks to his determination and good fortune, Naruto finally wins the first prize.
However, the first prize isn’t a year’s supply of instant ramen cups. Naruto only then realizes that the ramen was actually the second prize. Instead, the first prize is a set of three signed copies of Icha-Icha Tactics by Jiraiya.
Naruto feels frustrated because he has no use for the books. Disappointed, he throws the books away and blames himself for not paying closer attention when choosing which prize to aim for.
Moments after Naruto leaves Ino’s Prize Booth, Kakashi arrives with more than 20 lottery tickets. Kakashi is excited to win the first prize—a signed set of Icha-Icha Tactics by Jiraiya, which he loves. Unfortunately for Kakashi, the prize has already been claimed by Naruto.
If only Naruto hadn’t left the booth so quickly, he could have traded the three Icha-Icha Tactics books for Kakashi’s dozens of lottery tickets. Kakashi would have been thrilled to get his hands on the books written by Jiraiya, and Naruto could have tried his luck again to win the second prize—a year’s supply of instant ramen cups.
