3. Denji Chooses Not to Punish Power’s Bad Behavior
When Katana Man and Akane launched a surprise attack on Denji, Aki, Himeno, and Power while they were enjoying ramen, chaos ensued. The attack left Denji gravely injured, Aki unconscious, and Himeno dead. Meanwhile, Power managed to escape the dire situation without being noticed by either the enemies or her teammates. As a result, she did not participate in the fight and emerged completely unscathed.
Later, Power and Denji visited Aki, who was lying in a hospital bed. To avoid being confronted about her cowardly actions, Power turned off the television, which was broadcasting news about the shooting incident between the Devil Hunters and humans allied with devils. Casually, she sat next to Denji, who was reading a manga and eating an apple.
However, the atmosphere suddenly shifted when Power lashed out at Denji for stopping her from reaching for an apple. Denji had intended to punish Power for her cowardice in fleeing the fight. A small argument broke out between them. Power defended herself by claiming she had been hungry during the battle and decided to head home. But Denji knew that was just a lie.
Although he initially planned to punish Power by not giving her the apple, Denji eventually handed it to her. This gesture showed that, despite being annoyed by Power’s bad behavior, Denji still cared about her as his partner.
