3. Kakashi Acknowledges Boruto’s Exceptional Skills

During the Konoha Academy’s practical graduation exam, Kakashi personally stepped in as the exam proctor. He wanted to test the so-called troublemaker class, which included Boruto and his friends.

The requirement to pass the exam was to take the bells from Kakashi. Knowing this, Boruto became obsessed with confronting Kakashi directly rather than wasting time dealing with the other proctors guarding him.

Boruto climbed a tall tree to search for Kakashi’s whereabouts. This simple action earned him points from Kakashi, as seeking an opponent from a higher vantage point was considered a smart strategy.

Boruto and Kakashi then engaged in a battle. Kakashi was impressed by Boruto’s mastery of the Kagebunshin technique and his exceptional Ninjutsu and Taijutsu skills. Moreover, Boruto demonstrated a variety of tactics to try to seize the bells from Kakashi, even though his efforts ultimately failed.

Kakashi acknowledged that Boruto’s abilities were above average and even referred to him as a genius. According to Kakashi, although Boruto was still an Academy student at the time, his skill level had already surpassed that of a Genin and was even on par with that of a Chunin.
