6. Gotou Hitori Overwhelmed by Her Anxious Thoughts
When Hiroi invited the members of Kessoku Band to enjoy a free concert by her popular indie band, Sick Hack, an overwhelming excitement flared within Gotou. She was confident in Hiroi’s musical brilliance, having witnessed it firsthand during their street performance together, but Hiroi’s vocal abilities remained a mystery to her. Nevertheless, Gotou couldn’t contain her eagerness as she imagined the epic experience of attending Sick Hack’s live concert.
On their way to Shinjuku, surrounded by a crowded train of passengers, Gotou became immersed in her wild imagination. In her mind, she was already savoring the spectacular Sick Hack concert and silently thanking Hiroi for the invitation. Luckily, Nijika quickly snapped Gotou out of her daydream, reminding her that they hadn’t arrived at the concert venue yet.
Upon reaching Sick Hack’s headquarters, Hiroi warmly guided the Kessoku Band members inside. Kita noted the contrasting atmosphere between Shinjuku Folt and Starry Cafe, but Nijika reassured her, saying that all music venues are essentially the same.
However, Gotou suddenly felt overwhelmed by the judgmental gazes she thought were directed at her. Panic took hold, and once again, she spiraled into her vivid imagination, endlessly expressing gratitude for the amazing concert in her head.
Fortunately, Nijika stepped in to ground Gotou, reminding her that the Sick Hack concert hadn’t even started yet. With great care, Nijika helped Gotou to her feet, steadying her. Nijika also shared a valuable lesson with Gotou—that the seemingly critical stares of strangers don’t always signify ill intent and that, given a chance, they could turn out to be kind people.
