Since Konohamaru was a child, the Third Hokage appointed Ebisu as his private tutor. This was because Ebisu was one of the Special Jounin and an Elite Instructor who taught the top-tier students. From Konohamaru’s childhood until he became a Genin, Ebisu remained by his side. In fact, Ebisu also served as the Jounin leader of Konohamaru’s team, which consisted of Moegi and Udon.

Ebisu considered Konohamaru his favorite student. This was evident when Pain attacked Konoha—Ebisu was willing to sacrifice his life to buy time so that Konohamaru could escape and avoid being killed by Pain. As a teacher, Ebisu firmly believed that one day, Konohamaru would become Hokage.

Sometimes, Ebisu tried to appear cool so that Konohamaru would look up to him as a role model. However, there were three moments when Ebisu failed to impress his beloved student.

1. Defeated by Naruto

This story begins when Konohamaru accidentally witnessed Naruto using the Oiroke no Jutsu on the Third Hokage. Seeing this, Konohamaru was instantly impressed because Naruto managed to make his grandfather, the Third Hokage, fall over and have a nosebleed. After that, Konohamaru began following Naruto around, pleading with him to teach him the Oiroke no Jutsu so he could defeat his grandfather.

As his teacher, Ebisu forbade Konohamaru from associating with Naruto. Therefore, when Ebisu caught Konohamaru with Naruto, he immediately tried to drag Konohamaru back home. However, Konohamaru refused because he still wanted to train with Naruto.

At that moment, Konohamaru attempted to use the Oiroke no Jutsu on Ebisu. Although Ebisu managed to resist the temptation, he was shocked and horrified to see that his student had learned such an inappropriate technique. This made Ebisu even more determined to keep Konohamaru away from Naruto’s influence.

But it didn’t stop there—Naruto used the Kage Bunshin no Jutsu to confront Ebisu. Confidently, Ebisu declared that he was not as weak as Mizuki and was ready to take Naruto on. However, Naruto then transformed all his shadow clones into Harem no Jutsu—a group of attractive women who hugged and flirted with Ebisu. Unable to resist the overwhelming temptation, Ebisu was launched into the air, got a nosebleed, and passed out.

This incident made Konohamaru admire Naruto even more, as he himself hadn’t been able to defeat Ebisu. For Ebisu, this was a deeply embarrassing moment, as he was rendered helpless in front of his beloved student.

One day, Naruto nearly told Kakashi about how he had defeated Ebisu using the Harem no Jutsu. However, Ebisu quickly covered Naruto’s mouth and even tried to bribe him with promises of treats and any gift Naruto wanted, as long as the story didn’t reach Kakashi.
