8. Nanami Kento Fed Up with Gojo Satoru’s Nonsense
While Nanami was relaxing and reading the newspaper, Gojo, feeling bored, asked Nanami to tell him something interesting. However, Nanami ignored him. With his usual cheeky attitude, Gojo invited Nanami to play catch using leftover rice balls while talking about secularism and having fun. Gojo even mentioned that he would record the game and upload it online to make it a trending topic. However, Nanami remained indifferent and told Gojo to have fun by himself.
But Gojo wasn’t one to give up easily. With his boundless energy, he once again invited Nanami to play the Yamanote Line game at his favorite spot. Still uninterested, Nanami told Gojo to keep entertaining himself with his ridiculous ideas.
Then, Yuji arrived to meet Gojo and Nanami. After being presumed dead, Yuji was eager to remind Gojo of his promise to reinstate him at Jujutsu High during the goodwill event between the Tokyo and Kyoto schools. Yuji couldn’t wait to reunite with his first-year classmates and the second-year seniors. Gojo reminded Yuji that he had been in hiding for two months and suggested that it wouldn’t be wise for him to make a normal appearance. Instead, Gojo insisted that Yuji should make a surprise entrance.
Gojo assured Yuji that his plan would shock, delight, and bring everyone to tears of joy and laughter. He even joked that the second-year students and the Kyoto guests would cry so much that they might vomit, creating such an emotional atmosphere that it could help resolve global warming. Yuji agreed with Gojo’s idea and asked what he needed to do. Gojo simply told Yuji to follow his lead.
Meanwhile, Nanami pitied Yuji’s innocence in going along with Gojo’s ridiculous plan. In his heart, Nanami thought that Yuji being alive was already enough of a surprise for everyone who thought he was dead.
Unlike Yuji, Nanami always refused Gojo’s invitations to play games or entertain his silly ideas. When Gojo told Nanami he had something important to say, Nanami sarcastically responded with, “Amazing,” even though Gojo hadn’t said anything yet. Annoyed by Nanami’s constant indifference, Gojo began to haunt Nanami—appearing when Nanami was staring out the car window or suddenly showing up when Nanami opened the elevator doors.
One day, Gojo sent Nanami a letter. Curious, Nanami thought that maybe this time Gojo was trying to convey something important. However, when he opened the letter, he found an inappropriate drawing inside. Frustrated, Nanami realized he had fallen for another one of Gojo’s pranks.
It was no surprise then that when Gojo introduced Yuji to Nanami for a joint mission, Nanami immediately told Yuji that his way of thinking was entirely different from Gojo’s. Nanami admitted that he trusted and admired Gojo, which made Gojo happy. But then, Nanami loudly told Yuji that he did not respect Gojo, leaving Gojo completely stunned.
