# Kakashi Masters Mangekyo Sharingan After Being Underestimated by Itachi

This story begins when Itachi and Kisame infiltrate the Hidden Leaf Village. Kakashi, who noticed the presence of two suspicious figures at a tea house, instructed Kurenai and Asuma to tail them. The two figures turned out to be Itachi and Kisame, which led to a battle between Asuma and Kurenai against them.

Kakashi arrived to assist Kurenai and Asuma, who were struggling to hold their own. Kakashi stated that only someone with the Sharingan, like himself, could face the power of Itachi’s Sharingan.

Itachi was initially impressed with Kakashi’s ability to use the Sharingan despite not being its original owner or a member of the Uchiha Clan. However, Itachi underestimated Kakashi, believing that Kakashi’s ordinary Sharingan was no match for the power of his Mangekyo Sharingan.

Overconfident in facing Itachi, Kakashi fell victim to the Tsukuyomi Genjutsu. He experienced excruciating pain as if being stabbed repeatedly with a sword for 72 hours in the illusory world. It is said that one second in the real world feels like hours, or even days, for those trapped in Tsukuyomi. After spending three days in the illusion, Kakashi collapsed and was unconscious for a week in the hospital.

Two years later, during the mission to rescue the Kazekage in the Hidden Sand Village, Kakashi once again faced Itachi. This time, however, he had prepared himself to avoid falling into the Tsukuyomi Genjutsu again.

Kakashi had also learned about Tsukuyomi’s weakness: it consumed a significant amount of Itachi’s chakra and impaired his vision. During their confrontation, Kakashi surprised Itachi with the question, “How bad is your eyesight now?” Itachi was shocked that Kakashi knew about the risks of using the Mangekyo Sharingan and began to suspect that Kakashi had also mastered it.

However, the battle between Kakashi and Itachi didn’t last long. It turned out that Kakashi wasn’t fighting the real Itachi, but rather a figure altered by Pain to take on Itachi’s appearance. This figure was only given 30% of Itachi’s chakra and was controlled remotely by Itachi.

Itachi’s suspicions about Kakashi mastering the Mangekyo Sharingan were confirmed. During a later encounter with Deidara, who attempted to escape by riding his clay bird, Kakashi used his Mangekyo Sharingan to attack Deidara from a distance in mid-air. With this technique, Kakashi managed to sever Deidara’s right arm, proving that he had indeed mastered the power that Itachi had once doubted.
