Kage Bunshin is a jutsu that allows the user to create body doubles. When used in battle, the Kage Bunshin jutsu can be relied upon to swarm the enemy and distract their attention. In addition, the user can also command their Kage Bunshin to perform various tasks simultaneously.

Even though the offensive power of Kage Bunshin isn’t lethal, using this jutsu cleverly can yield extraordinary results. One example of this is how Kawaki used Kage Bunshin to prank Isshiki, ultimately contributing to Isshiki’s defeat.

Why Kawaki Likes Kage Bunshin and Aspires to Be a Shinobi Up to Pranking Isshiki

1. Kawaki’s Interest in Kage Bunshin and His Desire to Become a Shinobi

While Naruto was accompanying Boruto in close-range Shinobi combat training, Kawaki, along with Himawari, Mitsuki, and Sarada, observed from the sidelines. When Boruto used the Kage Bunshin Jutsu to attack Naruto, Kawaki was amazed. He didn’t expect Boruto to be capable of using the Kage Bunshin Jutsu—a technique Naruto often used to keep an eye on him.

After the training session ended, Kawaki became curious about the meaning behind the Reconciliation Seal that Boruto and Naruto performed. Sarada explained that the Reconciliation Seal is a mandatory ritual that Shinobi perform at the end of a match as a sign of respect for their opponent.

Living with the Uzumaki family, Kawaki approached Naruto, who was working from home to complete his Hokage duties while also monitoring Kawaki’s activities. Kawaki mentioned to Naruto that the training match between Naruto and Boruto looked really fun. Hearing this, Naruto offered to teach Kawaki Ninjutsu.

However, Kawaki felt it was impossible to learn Ninjutsu since he wasn’t a Shinobi and didn’t know how to control chakra. Naruto then explained that chakra actually exists within everyone. Although chakra is often used by Shinobi to master Ninjutsu, its true essence is the power that connects all living beings.

Kawaki then expressed his admiration for the Kage Bunshin Jutsu, calling it both cool and useful. Naruto agreed, saying that the Kage Bunshin Jutsu is indeed useful—not just for combat but also for multitasking and handling various activities at once.

However, the main reason Kawaki liked Kage Bunshin was because he wanted to fight against himself to relieve stress. Naruto, however, disagreed with this idea. He told Kawaki that he had tried the same thing in the past, but it didn’t help ease his stress and proved to be ineffective.
