2. Kunigami Says Isagi Yoichi Is Good at Making Quick Decisions
While Team Z’s players were setting up their formation to strengthen their team, Kuon, who was appointed as the team strategist, began gathering information about the individual skills of Team Z’s members.
However, Isagi was the only member of Team Z who had not revealed his standout ability to Kuon. Isagi was still searching within himself, trying to figure out what exactly he could bring to the team. Deep down, Isagi knew that he didn’t possess any impressive individual skills worth showing off.
After Kunigami treated Isagi to a steak at the Blue Lock cafeteria as a reward for his brilliant pass that led to a goal in the match against Team X, Kunigami admitted he was curious about Isagi’s decision to pass the ball to him. Kunigami pointed out that despite being marked by a defender, Isagi still chose to pass to him rather than to Raichi, who was unmarked and closer to Isagi.
Isagi explained to Kunigami the reasoning behind his pass, saying that he acted on instinct without realizing it. He believed that if he had passed the ball to Raichi, Barou, who was already closing in on Isagi, could have easily intercepted Raichi.
Kunigami then told Isagi that his individual ability was like a “goal-sensing instinct.” With genuine admiration, Kunigami praised Isagi for his quick decision-making and described Isagi’s skill as something extraordinary.
