10. Isagi Yoichi: From Nobody to Master

Kuon ended Team Z’s training session, instructing his teammates to rest and prepare their strategy for the match against Team W the next day. However, Isagi remained seated alone at the side of the field, reflecting on Ego’s words about the importance of making their weapon stand out. He felt confused because his weapon wasn’t something as visible as dribbling or shooting.

The “smell” of a goal that Isagi could sense only appeared at certain moments. He realized that even though he didn’t know when his weapon would activate, if he ran out of stamina, it would all be for nothing. Finally, Isagi understood that the way to sharpen his weapon was to improve his physical condition so he could react quickly and run for the entire 90 minutes.

Isagi began running to train his stamina. Seeing him, the other Team Z players, who had already left the field, returned to practice as well. They didn’t want to fall behind after Isagi became the top-ranked player in their team. With unyielding determination, the Team Z participants ran to build their stamina, refusing to rest. Only Chigiri stayed seated, watching his teammates run with burning resolve.

Isagi felt amazed to see his teammates following his lead, even though he used to be an unknown striker. He once thought his soccer career was over and cried his heart out. But now, after becoming Team Z’s top-ranked player, he felt reborn.

From the television screen, Ego observed Team Z’s training and murmured, “When someone who was considered weak surpasses the others, the human spirit ignites. When the so-called ‘underdog’ in the team starts to shine, competition is born. This is Blue Lock—the most intense place to create the world’s number one striker.”
