10. Isagi Yoichi Vows to Defeat Nagi Seishiro
As Team Z walked toward the Blue Lock cafeteria, they accidentally spotted Kuon talking with members of Team V. Team Z decided to eavesdrop on their conversation. Kuon eagerly approached the Team V trio—Reo, Zantetsu, and Nagi—who were enjoying their meal.
Kuon tried hard to offer information about Team Z, hoping Team V could prevent Team Z from scoring goals. Kuon aimed to remain the top scorer for Team Z and promised them benefits in the second selection phase of Blue Lock.
However, Zantetsu, who had scored 5 goals for Team V, and Reo, who had already netted 6 goals, firmly rejected Kuon’s offer. Zantetsu stated that Kuon’s offer wasn’t beneficial to Team V, explaining it in terms of a “priority initiative method.” He then asked Reo if that term was correct. Reo, annoyed, told Zantetsu to stop acting smart.
Meanwhile, Nagi, who found the conversation bothersome and even considered chewing his steak to be troublesome, asked Reo to carry him back to the dorm. Reo obliged. Nagi, who had never experienced defeat in soccer and was the top scorer for Team V with 7 goals, was puzzled by Kuon’s desperation to collaborate with Team V. Reo explained that Kuon’s only goal was to achieve victory.
Pitying Kuon’s efforts, Nagi concluded that being weak was exhausting. Nagi even remarked that he would rather quit soccer than become someone like Kuon. He asked Reo if soccer could still bring joy, even after facing defeat.
Team Z, especially Isagi Yoichi, who had been listening to the conversation, became infuriated by Nagi’s arrogant attitude toward soccer. Kuon was shocked when he realized Team Z was there. Isagi confronted Nagi, demanding that he stop disrespecting soccer and vowing to defeat Nagi when Team Z faced Team V.
