Watch Blue Lock Episode 08 Season 1
1. Team Z Strategy Meeting
Team Z held a strategy meeting led by Lemon. During the meeting, Lemon announced that the match between Team W and Team Y ended in a draw, thanks to Niko scoring the equalizing goal. As a result, Team Z was now in third place in the standings. The final match in Building 5 would pit Team Z against the undefeated leader, Team V.
If the match against Team V ended in a draw, Team Z would not advance to the next round due to their poor goal difference compared to Team W. Therefore, Team Z had to win against Team V to secure second place in the standings. According to Lemon’s analysis, if Team Z couldn’t stop Team V’s trio, they wouldn’t stand a chance. Team V’s trio—Zantetsu, Nagi, and Reo—had scored a total of 18 goals. Zantetsu had scored 5 goals, Reo 6 goals, and Nagi 7 goals.
Raichi reminded the team that Kuon was also present at their strategy meeting, but Naruhaya said he didn’t mind since Team V didn’t want anything to do with Kuon. Chigiri then wondered if Niko was the type of striker who liked to score goals solo. Bachira explained that Niko was inspired by someone, hinting that the person was Isagi.
In his heart, Isagi was convinced that defeat had made Niko stronger. He also felt immense anger toward Nagi and was determined to defeat him.
2. Reo Mikage Always Spoils Nagi Seishiro
Nagi was lying down, casually playing a game on his smartphone, when Zantetsu scolded him for leaving training early. Nagi lazily replied that training was bothersome. Zantetsu then warned Nagi that if he skipped training too often, lactic acid would build up and negatively affect his knees. Zantetsu asked if his explanation was correct, and Nagi agreed.
Reo then approached and told Zantetsu that Nagi didn’t need to train. Zantetsu accused Reo of always spoiling Nagi, but Reo firmly responded that Nagi was his “treasure.”
3. Reo Mikage & Nagi Seishiro’s Past
Reo was the son of the owner of Mikage Corporation, which had total assets of 705.8 billion yen. His father wanted Reo to surpass him, and his mother asked what Reo truly desired. However, from a young age, Reo felt his life was dull. Everything he wanted always came easily.
He was popular among girls, top of his class, a skilled basketball player, and admired by many friends. But amidst all of this, Reo couldn’t find something he genuinely wanted. To him, obtaining things easily made life boring. He wanted something precious—something that truly belonged to him. When he watched Germany win the World Cup, Reo began dreaming of becoming a world champion.
However, his father told him to forget his dream of playing soccer, arguing that only the gifted could be chosen and that it was too late for Reo, who was just starting in high school. His mother agreed, urging him to become a business heir and a great entrepreneur. But Reo felt that what his parents offered wasn’t what he wanted.
Reo was determined to lead his school’s soccer team to win the national tournament, prove his parents wrong, and then aim for the World Cup championship. However, he felt discouraged because his elite school most likely had a weak soccer team. Even so, Reo refused to give up.
While walking down the stairs, Reo’s knee accidentally bumped into Nagi’s back as Nagi sat on the steps playing a game on his smartphone. As a result, Nagi’s phone flew out of his hands and nearly hit the floor. But with impressive composure, Nagi used his foot to catch the smartphone mid-air. With remarkable control, the phone landed safely on his foot.
Reo was amazed by Nagi’s skill. He asked if Nagi was part of a soccer club and immediately invited him to play soccer together. However, Nagi, knowing that Reo came from a wealthy family, asked for money instead. Nagi also stated that he didn’t want to play soccer and had never played any sport because he preferred a laid-back life.
Despite this, Reo saw immense potential in Nagi and believed Nagi was the “chosen one” his father had mentioned. Therefore, Reo kept trying to convince Nagi to become a soccer player, confident that if they worked hard together, they could reach the professional level. But Nagi found hard work troublesome, as well as playing soccer, because he hated anything that felt like a hassle.
Reo then tried a different approach. He reassured Nagi that he didn’t have to change his habits of gaming and lazing around because Reo was certain Nagi had the talent to become a great soccer player. Eventually, Reo succeeded in persuading Nagi to play soccer with him. Reo’s life, which had once been boring, changed after meeting Nagi.
