Awakening – Blue Lock Episode 9 – Season 1

1. Conflict of Team Z

Kunigami dribbled the ball with the intent of entering his long-range shooting zone. He skillfully maneuvered past several players from Team V, but Reo, who anticipated Kunigami’s intentions, quickly stole the ball from him. Kunigami tried to chase Reo down to regain possession, but Reo’s agility allowed him to evade any physical contact. Kunigami couldn’t help but be impressed by Reo’s ability to maintain control of the ball.

Reo then delivered a long pass directly toward Team Z’s goal, aiming for Nagi. Raichi and Igaguri were confident they could stop Nagi this time, believing the same trick wouldn’t work again. However, just as Igaguri prepared to block Nagi from receiving the pass, Nagi surprised everyone by flicking the ball upward with his foot and executing a bicycle kick, sending the ball into Team Z’s net. As a result, Team V extended their lead to 2-0 against Team Z.

Raichi and Imamura were in awe of Nagi’s exceptional skill. Naruhaya began to panic as Team Z fell two goals behind, realizing their strategy wasn’t working as planned.

Isagi started to doubt Team Z’s chances of defeating Team V. Frustrated, Raichi grabbed Kunigami by the collar and scolded him, demanding to know why he had allowed the ball to be taken, while reminding him that a striker’s job was to score goals. Kunigami retorted, telling Raichi to focus on defending properly. Isagi then stepped in to calm the situation, urging Kunigami and Raichi to give their best efforts for the sake of victory.

2. Team Z’s Frustration

Isagi passed the ball to Chigiri, who was determined to turn the tide of the match. Chigiri dashed forward at full speed, chasing the ball with everything he had. However, Zantetsu managed to catch up and overtake Chigiri, stealing the ball from him. Chigiri was stunned, unable to believe that Zantetsu was even faster than him.

Zantetsu then passed the ball to Reo. Sensing the danger, Isagi immediately instructed Team Z to focus on marking Nagi, who they anticipated would receive the pass. However, with most of Team Z’s players focusing on Nagi, Reo instead sent the ball to Zantetsu, who was left unmarked in his shooting zone.

Naruhaya attempted to block Zantetsu, but his efforts were insufficient to stop him. With a powerful mid-range curved shot, Zantetsu scored, putting Team V ahead 3-0 against Team Z. Nearly all of Team Z’s players were overwhelmed with despair, as if there was no longer any hope of recovering and defeating Team V.

3. Bachira Meguru’s Soccer Dance

Bachira felt thrilled watching Team V’s trio display their brilliance, but Isagi quickly reminded him that Team Z was already three goals behind. Bachira admitted that the trio’s attack was extraordinary and asserted that for Team Z to make a comeback, they also had to become extraordinary. He then asked Isagi to pass him the ball and began dribbling toward Team V’s goal.

Bachira told Isagi that if their weapons and scoring formulas were no longer effective despite their best efforts, they had to surpass their limits. He also revealed that the “monster” inside him urged them to stay motivated, even in difficult situations, and never back down. Bachira understood that their purpose at Blue Lock was to become the best striker in the world, and if he couldn’t defeat Team V, then he wasn’t worthy of that title.

When Reo confronted him, Bachira performed a lightning-fast step-over to outmaneuver Reo, followed by a Marseille roulette turn to break past him. Zantetsu, sprinting at full speed, immediately stepped in to block Bachira. However, with agility, Bachira used a flick-up to lift the ball into the air and executed a flip-flap midair, shifting the ball left and right with one foot. This move allowed him to bypass Zantetsu effortlessly.

With burning determination, Bachira faced the three remaining defenders in front of Team V’s goal. Demonstrating his dribbling prowess, he used a series of freestyle football techniques to get past the first two defenders. Then, with a heel flick, he tricked the final defender. In a one-on-one duel with the goalkeeper, Bachira shocked everyone by scoring a stunning goal with a rabona kick, narrowing the gap to 3-1 in favor of Team V.
