10. Chigiri Hyoma Scores the Equalizer
Raichi passed the ball to Chigiri, but Zantetsu, confident in his speed, was certain he could stop him. Chigiri knew that to score, he had to outpace Zantetsu. He attempted to run against Zantetsu’s center of gravity, but Zantetsu reacted with lightning speed to block him. Realizing Zantetsu had superior acceleration, Chigiri devised a solution—he kicked the ball far ahead to set up a race against Zantetsu.
Ego used this moment to explain “Awakening” to Anri. He described how, when facing a stronger opponent, the weaker individual adjusts their abilities to create a new formula for victory.
Chigiri demonstrated his intelligence in countering Zantetsu, who was known for his instant acceleration. While Zantetsu quickly gained the lead in their chase for the ball, Chigiri remained composed, knowing that Zantetsu’s speed was only advantageous in short distances. Over a 10-meter sprint, Chigiri admitted he would lose, but over 50 meters, he was confident in his superior speed.
In a spectacular long-distance sprint, Chigiri’s legs moved with incredible velocity, leaving Zantetsu behind in a flash-like race. As he approached the goal, Chigiri deftly evaded a sliding tackle from a Team V defender while maintaining control of the ball. Finally, Chigiri delivered a precise shot into Team V’s net, scoring a dramatic equalizer that brought Team Z level at 3-3.
