2. Bachira Meguru Finds the Monster He Was Looking For

There were 12 strikers in Room Z, all of whom were about to undergo Blue Lock’s first test. The participants were given 2 minutes to play a game of tag with a soccer ball. Whoever got hit by the ball would become the “it” and would have to tag others, while the others would have to dodge the ball to avoid becoming “it.” Those still “it” when the timer ran out would be immediately eliminated from Blue Lock. For those eliminated, their dreams of playing for Japan’s national team would be shattered forever.

In the last minute, Isagi was chosen as the chaser. However, Isagi faced a major challenge in targeting and hitting other participants with the ball. These players were extremely athletic, moving nimbly and skillfully dodging his shots. Eventually, Isagi spotted a rare opportunity to strike Igaguri, who was defenseless after falling to the ground.

Though Isagi understood that fulfilling his dream meant crushing someone else’s, he couldn’t bring himself to target a low-ranked player like Igaguri. For Isagi, his true target was the highest-ranked player in Room Z. At that moment, Bachira became fascinated by Isagi’s extraordinary thought process. Without hesitation, Bachira snatched the ball from Isagi, making himself the chaser. Bachira immediately set his sights on the top-ranked player, Kira Ryosuke, as his prey.

With only 10 seconds left on the clock, Bachira relentlessly pursued Kira Ryosuke, determined to hit him with a powerful strike. However, Kira Ryosuke was exceptionally quick and adept at evading Bachira’s attacks.

As the clock ticked down, Bachira refused to give up. In a daring move, he made a precise pass to Isagi, who was facing off against Kira Ryosuke. In a split second, Isagi launched a powerful shot that struck Kira Ryosuke square in the face. Kira collapsed to the ground, eliminated from Blue Lock, his grand dream of making it onto Japan’s national team crushed.

Ironically, Isagi himself didn’t fully understand why he had instinctively shot the ball at Kira Ryosuke, considering Kira was the participant he was most familiar with. Curious, Isagi asked Bachira why he passed the ball to him, especially since Bachira would have been eliminated if Isagi hadn’t taken the shot. Smiling playfully, Bachira replied that he was certain Isagi would take the shot, leaving Isagi surprised by his confidence.

After officially joining the same team, Team Z, Bachira approached Isagi, who was practicing soccer alone at night, and sincerely offered to train with him.

In a surprising turn, Bachira gave Isagi an additional explanation when asked why he believed Isagi would take the shot at Kira Ryosuke. Bachira revealed that there was a “monster” inside him that had instructed him to pass the ball to Isagi. He admitted that he felt lucky to be part of Blue Lock because it led him to meet Isagi.

During the ball-tag game in the initial Blue Lock test, Bachira was captivated as he saw his imaginary monster appear and attach itself to Isagi. Without hesitation, Bachira passed the ball to Isagi, who was standing alongside the monster.

And as expected, Isagi launched the shot at Kira Ryosuke. That moment marked the first time someone had accepted Bachira’s pass and acted in exactly the way Bachira wanted. Because of this, Bachira became convinced that Isagi was the “monster” he had always been searching for.

After joining Blue Lock, Bachira met Isagi and saw the true monster within him, which made Bachira feel an immense joy playing soccer alongside him. The main reason Bachira frequently passed the ball to Isagi was because he saw his imaginary monster always lingering near Isagi. Bachira firmly believed that Isagi was the real monster he had always dreamed of—someone who enthusiastically accepted his passes and consistently scored goals the way Bachira had always imagined.
